About Cashloom
A bit of background on Cashloom and why we do things the way we do.
About Cashloom.
I started Cashloom to make clothes recycling simpler without blurring the line between selling and donating. My first clothing business ran as CASH FOR CLOTHING LTD at cashforclothing.org.
Over time I realised people need a clear choice: sometimes you want to sell a bag of clothing for cash, and sometimes you want to donate it to support local causes. Mixing those options together can be confusing, so on 23 January 2024 I dissolved CASH FOR CLOTHING LTD and rebuilt the service around one simple idea: make the choice obvious, and keep it local.
Cashloom now works through two types of partner drop-off locations. You’ll always see which one you’re using:
Paid drop-off locations that buy clothing by weight. Ideal if you want money back for a clear-out.
- Get a price per kg and an instant quote
- Optional: donate some (or all) from the same drop-off
100% donation drop-off locations. Choose this when you want your clothing to go directly into charity routes.
- Built for donors who want to give everything
- Supports local charities through participating shops
Alongside the drop-off network, we’re building the Cashloom Reseller Hub platform so resellers can buy and sell clothing by weight and keep good stock in circulation.
If you’ve got questions or you want to work with us, head over to the contact page and I’ll get back to you.
What we focus on
Reseller hubs are for paid drop-offs. Charity shops are for 100% donation.
We prioritise local partners so donations support communities nearby.
Reselling by weight keeps usable clothing in circulation and out of landfill.
Straightforward pricing, clear location types, and fewer surprises.
