Selling clothes — FAQs

Clear answers about what we buy, how grading works, and how drop-off/collection works.

What do you accept? +

We buy wearable clothes, footwear and textiles that are clean and dry.

We can’t accept mouldy, wet, infested or heavily soiled items.

Do I need to sort everything? +

No — mixed bags are fine. We grade items into A / B / C after they’re received.

How does grading work (A / B / C)? +

We grade clothing based on wearability and condition:

  • Grade A — best condition, modern, minimal wear.
  • Grade B — wearable with signs of use.
  • Grade C — lower-value wearable items (older styles / heavier wear).

Tip: weighing your bags before submitting makes your estimate closer to the final weigh-in.

Drop-off vs collection — what’s the difference? +

Drop-off: you bring your bags to a nearby depot shown on the clothes page.

Collection: we collect from your address. Mileage is calculated from your postcode and affects your estimate.

The calculator says collection isn’t available — why? +

If mileage would make the payout too low, collection may be blocked to keep it fair and workable.

Try switching to drop-off, or increase the weight/value before requesting collection.

Why do you ask for my postcode/address? +

We use your postcode to calculate distances to the nearest depot (drop-off) or mileage (collection), and to arrange the right handover.

Payments — FAQs

How your estimate becomes a confirmed payout, and when money is sent.

When do I get paid? +

Payment happens after items are received (or collected), then weighed and graded. We pay by bank transfer once approved/confirmed.

Is the calculator total guaranteed? +

It’s a guide. Final payout depends on the actual weight and grading after checks.

Why can the final amount change? +

Common reasons:

  • Actual weight differs from the estimate.
  • Items grade differently than expected (A/B/C).
  • For collections, mileage depends on confirmed postcode distance.
My bank details were entered — are they safe? +

We only use bank details to make payments. For full details, see the Privacy Policy.

Depot managers — FAQs

Applying, requirements, listing status, and what’s expected.

How much can I earn as a depot? +

Depot earnings shown on the application page:

  • £0.60 per mile (for collections)
  • £0.10 per kg handled

Earnings depend on demand, your availability/opening hours, and booking distance/weight.

What do I need to apply? +
  • Secure, dry storage (lockable room/garage or supervised area)
  • Reliable opening hours you can keep updated
  • Access/parking notes for easy handovers
  • One proof upload: photo ID or proof of address (JPG/PNG/PDF)
  • If doing collections/transport: full UK driving licence + appropriate insurance
My depot application says “Pending” — what does that mean? +

New applications start as Pending and only go live once approved after review.

Will my depot details be public? +

If you’re approved (or choose to publish your listing), certain depot info may be shown publicly so customers can find/contact you. This may include your depot name, town/postcode area, opening hours, access notes, and public contact details you provide.

See Terms and Privacy for full details.

How do I log in to the depot dashboard? +

Use the depot login page, then you’ll be able to access the dashboard. If you applied and created a password during the application, use those details.

Troubleshooting

Quick fixes for the most common issues.

“Use my location” doesn’t work +

Try these steps:

  • Allow location permission in your browser settings.
  • Reload the page and try again.
  • If location stays blocked, enter your postcode manually where prompted.
The nearest depot looks wrong +

If location access is blocked or inaccurate, the site may fall back to postcode calculations. Try entering your postcode carefully (including the space, e.g. SY16 1LD), or contact us with your postcode.

I submitted but didn’t get a reply +
  • Check your spam/junk folder.
  • Make sure your email/phone were typed correctly.
  • Contact us with your name + postcode so we can find the submission.
